WEST PALM BEACH – Lake Work West Resident Planning Group, Inc. is pleased to announce its 3rd Annual Literacy Luncheon. The annual event – themed “Oh! The Places You’ll Go!” will be held on March 20, 2020 at Benvenuto Restaurant. The luncheon, which raises money to support the organization’s literacy programs, will be emceed by Kathryn Wall of Community Partners, Inc. and feature lunch, awards presentation, and scholarship presentation to local high school seniors.
The event will also recognize the long-standing partnership with the Children’s Services Council, particularly its President & CEO Lisa Williams, who for more than 20 years, has supported its youth literacy programs that has provided reading, language, and other literacy programs to 25,000 youth since its inception. It will also recognize Impact 100 Palm Beach County, who provided significant funding for the organization’s Steps to Success year-round youth literacy program. Thanks to Impact 100, Steps to Success served 110 middle school youth over the last 2 years.
This is the Group’s third annual luncheon and is aimed at helping guests have a good time and support programs that make an impact in the lives of underserved youth, teens, adults, and families through literacy. “We hold this event not to just raise much needed dollars for our fee free programs of education, empowerment, and support, but also to bring individuals interested in our cause together to celebrate our collective impact on changing lives through literacy”, says Rhonda Rogers, the organization’s CEO & President. Funds raised at this event support the Organization’s youth literacy programs.
